The Weekend Roundup: A Valentine’s Day Soiree with The Style Collective

The Weekend Roundup: A Valentine’s Day Soiree with The Style Collective

I had the pleasure of heading up to Redondo Beach for Valentine’s Day event that I will not soon forget! Valentine’s Day 2017 was an epic adventure filled laughs, sweet treats, and champs for the win!

Location: The Shade Hotel Redondo Beach

When looking for a place to host our Style Collective Valentine’s Day event, there was no better choice than the Shade Hotel Redondo Beach. The shade hotel offers modern luxury with a scenic harbor setting. This idyllic hotel oozes opulence, but still seems comfortable enough to not be worried if you’re wearing jeans and a t-shirt.
We had the pleasure of dining at the very posh, yet casual Sea Level restaurant. where we feasted on their Roasted Baby Beets salad, Fennel Sausage Pizza, and the Citrus Cured Hamachi (I’m not drooling, you’re drooling). You want gourmet, they give you gourmet!
The Sea Level Restaurant is filled with comfy sofas and fire pits which we were thankful to have since the wind came out to play. Intent on celebrating in style, the ladies came dressed in classic Valentine’s Day colors each showing off their individual personality and style.
The Style Collective is a community of over 1,000 bloggers that is the basis of a thriving and supportive community cerated by Annie Spano. Style Collective is a blogging community for female fashion and lifestyle bloggers that connects us to other women in the industry, resources, and of course community. All of which are the secret ingredients to becoming a successful and happy blogger!
Our two hosts, Jessica Maurine @petitestylescript and the creator of www.petitestylescript.com, & Catherine Grace O’Connell @CatherineGraceO and the creator of www.catherinegraceo.com, definitely out did themselves and made sure we had EVERYTHING! You want to talk about hustle? These ladies rounded up some fantastic goodies for our goodie bags and looked so stylish while doing it!

The Goodie Bags

Lette Macarons variety of flavors– They graciously provided us with not one, but two full macaron towers filled with every flavor you could want (including my favorite, Madagascar Vanilla). In all honesty, I don’t normally like macarons. The ones I’ve tried in the past were too mushy. Well now, I may be in trouble because when  I tell you I love these macarons, I am under selling it here. Thank goodness they ship them, otherwise I would have had to make more weekend trips to LA….

Core Organic Orchard Pear– All flavored waters are created equal right? Wrong. The Organic Orchard Pear was the perfect amount of sweetness without that weird artificial after taste. And it’s organic?! Winning! (do we still say that?)
Kiehls Ultra Facial Cleaner provided by Bloomingdales– This gel cleanser has kernel and avocado oil (you guys already know I’m obsessed with avocados) and is pH balanced to gently clean the skin without removing or stripping your natural oils. I already use several of Kiehs’ products, so I’m looking forward to trying this one!
Dermalogica Daily Exfoliant– This is a charcoal powder that can be used daily to absorb the environmental pollution that can wreak havoc on our skin. “The highly active resurfacer delivers your smoothest skin ever, and helps fight the biochemical and environmental triggers known to accelerate skin aging” Give it to me!
Guilty Soles Giftcard– Debbie Savage, another SC sister and create of @tothineownstylebetrue brought several awesome raffle prizes donated by Guilty Soles. Guilty Soles offers on trend shoes at prices your wallet can appreciate. From coveted over the knee boots, to rose gold sneakers (my personal favorite) to sexy scrappy sandals and heels, Guilty Soles will have you stepping out in style. The company kindly donated several pairs for the raffle and gifted each of us a $30 gift card to use on their site. My shopping cart is already full in case you’re wondering and I’m also trying to exercise a modicum of self control and not buy every pair on the site….
Balloon Celebrations– Although we couldn’t actually take these home, the balloons were a fantastic addition to our event! They were delivered with care (and expert instructions) by Sarah (hey girl hey!). She stayed to make sure we had everything set up and ready to go! We had a read heart, gorgeous gold letters (to spell out Style Collective of course!) and a Valentine’s Day bouquet. Each made excellent props/backdrops for our event!

Even though the goodie bags, the food, and the location were legit, the event was about more than that. It was about spending an entire afternoon with inspired and passionate women! The beauty of blogging is there is no ceiling, glass or otherwise. I’m pretty sure that joining Annie Spano and The Style Collective is one of the best decisions I’ve made for 2017. As #GirlBosses, we’re dedicated to bringing beauty to the world and to one another, and I am SO here for it!
The day ended with hugs and promises to see each other soon. Thank you to Meggie Clausen, Jenna Ritter and Melissa Marcus for your genuine welcome and an afternoon of dedicated hospitality
Thank you once again to our amazing and generous sponsors:
Thank you to our stylish SC Sisters from Southern California for driving as far as San Diego or flying from San Francisco to attend! And of course, I can’t leave with out giving a HUGE thank you to Mike from @Goirishphotog for taking these marvelous pictures and braving the wind!
Head over to Thrive Global to read the full article from Catherine Grace O’Connell (it’s awesome!)
Talk to y’all soon!
