The Weekend Roundup: OC Style Collective Spring Meetup – Mesa

Sc-spring-meetup-OC-BYNM

Something magical happens when the Style Collective sister get together, and our most recent spring meetup was no exception. But before I get to that, let me tell you about where we went!

The Venue

This past week I had the pleasure of meeting up with some of my gorgeous SC sisters in Costa Mesa thanks to our lovely host Debbie Savage of To Thine Own Style be True. Costa Mesa is a chill beach town.

Mesa is a trendy restaurant located at The Camp offering a mash-up of small plate offerings as well as the usual suspects of burgers and wood fired pizzas but with a cool and refreshing twist.

The music was pumping out of the speakers at a volume where you had to speak a bit louder, but not scream. It’s the perfect locale and vibe for an intimate cocktail + dinner situation. I think the coolest thing was there are old movies, photos, and quotes projected throughout the restaurant. Which served as a great conversation piece, not that we needed any help with that!

Couple fun facts about Mesa, the Executive Chef, is a female which sadly there are not many; But how awesome is it that’s she killing the game?! Hey girl. hey! Talk about a #girlboss. Also, executive chef Niki Starr, has purple hair. Shut the front door. She is the epitome of cool . Her clever and unique approach to food is not only yummy and satisfying but also award winning!!

The Atmosphere

The team over at Mesa took care of us like we were A list celebrities. Reserved tables and sections, and thanks to bleudog floral, we had adorable floral arrangements that truly tied the event all together (I took an arrangement home, duh).

The bar was hardly one to be missed as, upon entrance, it was the first thing your eyes are drawn too. Have you ever walked into a place and “felt cool?” Do you know what I mean? It’s such a welcoming and comfortable place.

The Food & Drinks

I ordered the Grilled Marinated Shrimp dish with Chorizo, corn, and a delicious bechamel sauce.  The dish was not spicy at all, thankfully, and I was able to eat around the corn (I’m allergic remember) and there were 9 big ass shrimps. I’m sure it was supposed to be a shared plate, but didn’t nobody have time for that. So I ate all the shrimp, all by myself!!! We also had a yummy hummus with pita bread and veggies.

As a special ode to our event, Mesa made us a custom drink, Lavender Lemonade, and the ice cubes had edible flowers in them. It was almost too pretty to drink, almost ?. I may have (I did) have two just to make sure they were really good.

The Goodie Bags
I was lucky enough to arrive early and get one of the coveted goodie bags. Can you believe all this stuff? Let me tell you more…

From jewelry, to electronics, to essential oils, and everything in between, these goodie bags were packed to the brim! Is it weird to call them goodie bags or do you prefer swag bags?

The swag bag was so heavy, I could barely manage to get to my car along with my two bottles of Middle Sister Wines I had snagged ? I managed nevertheless…

The Songbird Collection – gifted us a wrap around choker, that if you’ve been watching my instastories, you know I can’t get enough of it. It’s this one just in case you haven’t been watching my stories (you’re missing out!)

Guilty Soles – was kind enough to provide a few pairs of shoes to a couple of lucky raffle winners that night. If you remember, I wore these to opening night of LA Fashion Week so I had my eye on them for sure, but sadly none were my size.

Spa Gregories – is a day spa and salon located in Southern California. I will NEVER say no to a spa day so I’m looking forward to scheduling some “me time” soon.

S.S. Chokers – Gifted us this chokers that is giving me serious summer vibes. ?

Rodan + Fields – Offers amazing skin care products and have us some great samples to try out.

Alaska Bear – Provided us with a natural silk, hypoallergenic pillowcase. I wear a silk headscarf to bed every night but when I forget (which is often) I know I’m good! Love it!

Alina Jo – makes handmade, earrings, bracelets, and chokers and this is the one I’ve been rocking!

Jade J – I feel like my phone stays on low battery these days since I’m on it at all times. I recently read Debbie’s post on them and was mulling over getting one myself, so when I found it in the bag, I was extra charged up (?). Also, give me all the rose gold! They gifted us with a Powerboost Power bank and a Jadelink charging cord.

Benev – specializes in skincare and gifted us with a Hyaluronic Moisturizer and Bio Cellular Mask. I used the mask already, it’s amazing. Instagram: @benevskincare

Oh So Cali Clothing – is a clothing line based out of Orange County, Ca. I’ve just gotten around to placing my order for this top. They focus on comfort and that laid back California lifestyle.

Shea Moisture – A fairly well known hair car/makeup brand that specializes in products for textured hair. They were kind enough to give us

Nubian Heritage – Was kind enough to give us a bottle of Coconut & Papaya Body Wash which smells amazing, but unfortunately I’m allergic to papaya, so I can only go off of what David tells me which is, “it’s good!”

Borika –  Offers organic, vegan and cruelty-free products. Admittedly, I was hesitant because you guys know I don’t like coffee, but I wanted to give it a try. They gave us a natural coffee and coconut body scrub. I am looking forward to trying this, but don’t expect me to become a coffee lover!

Leven Rose – Makes 100% natural oils and I was given an argan oil that can be used for your hair and skin. Two uses in one? Yes for multiple purpose item and Aegean oil all day, err day.

LavHa –  Has handmade therapeutic essential oil diffusing jewelry. They use high grade gemstones and LAVA rocks. They’re made in Southern California. I love my bracelet that I was gifted. It’s so pretty and really good quality. I just love the whole idea behind this brand.

Travertine – are vitamin rich botanical, vegan & cruelty free products. I’m loving my Shea nail and hand cream.

Pure – Gave us a bath fizzle that I can’t wait to try out.

Bella Sol Med Spa – Specializes in non-invasive skin care located in Chino, CA. I can’t wait to use the voucher they gave us for one free skin treatment.

Fresh Brothers – Offers pizza, salads and wings all over Orange County. And I looking forward to heading there for a weekend lunch soon!

Amazing Lash – Does eyelash extensions and is located all over Southern California. They were kind enough to give us a complimentary set of eyelash extensions so I’m going to save those up for a special occasion!

Halo Top – Is the world’s first all-natural light ice cream. One pint only has 250-350 calories. And while I can’t do dairy anymore (the lactose intolerance is too real)I’m happy to know I can keep it in the freezer for David since they’re protein-rich and low in sugar.

The Ladies

Anytime you get a group of fashion and lifestyle bloggers together, there is sure to be some amazing outfits out in full effect! Our wonderful photography Shawna of bleudogfotography was comfortably snapping away and capturing these wonderful moments for us.
